Fincumet Group Oy is purchasing a majority share of the Birger OÜ, the largest manufacturer of hooklift containers and steel structures in Northern Europe. Birger OÜ is based in Avinurme, Estonia, and employs some 200 persons. Birger OÜ manufactures hooklift containers for the entire Nordic region and in 2019 the company's revenue reached some 18 million euros.
The company acquisition boosts Fincumet Group's growth and internationalisation and bolsters the company's leading position as the largest seller of hooklift containers in Finland.
"This acquisition supports our strategy of growing into the largest supplier of hooklift containers in Northern Europe and strengthens our leading position in the Finnish market. With the acquisition, the total revenue of Fincumet Group's hooklift and shipping container businesses will rise above 30 million euros," says Fincumet Container's CEO Joonas Järvensivu.
"Birger OÜ is a renowned and reputable operator in the field. With this acquisition we are able to ensure high product quality, fast delivery times and continuous product development in a growing market. We have already been cooperating for over 10 years," Järvensivu continues.
Birger OÜ will continue to serve its customers as before, and the acquisition does not affect its existing customer relationships in any way. Aleksei Männiste will continue as the company's CEO.

Lakeway Finance Oy is a company that took over the management of the leasing products sold by Fincumet Container Oy on 31.12.2019. In the future, Lakeway Finance will provide a diverse offering of finance services.
